Consultant / Senior Consultant – Project Controls
£45,000-£65,000 / Yearly bonus + Hybrid Working: Depending on experience. This is a key position within our business; we are looking for the right individual to help build our Project Controls capability across our i3works business.

We are looking for multi skilled consultant within Project Controls and wider P3M to deliver for our clients and help shape our capability offering across the i3Works business.
Role Purpose
Whilst this role is primarily project controls at i3Works we operate with multiple skilled consultants covering both P3M and PC. This not only enables better understanding across the delivery team but also allows our consultants to be deployed across many disciplines within projects adding best value and becoming an asset to any team.
Our clients require expertise across Project Controls and P3M to ensure successfully and efficient delivery. Our ideal candidate has expertise covering all aspects of the following:
- Experience of effective project controls and project management leadership on complex construction projects.
- Experience of setting up effective project controls and project management services/audit and assurance frameworks/strategies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of risk, planning and cost tools, techniques and software.
- Ability to manage activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcome.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to ‘deep dive’ into topics.
- Experience or equivalent supporting the delivery of a range of project controls and project management services within management consultancy.
Our consultants may be deployed across a variety of roles ranging from PSO’s, Planners, RAIDO managers, Change managers, Project managers and Delivery managers.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery
- Provide Project Controls and Project management input on client projects working collaboratively across multi-functional teams and taking a proactive approach, anticipating challenges and addressing them in a timely manner.
- Work collaboratively with clients and internal teams to ensure alignment and mutual understanding of project goals.
- Deliver solutions that provide maximum benefit and value to the client, meeting or exceed their expectations.
- Provide regular updates and progress reports to clients, maintaining transparency and trust.
Client Relationships and Business Development
- Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with clients, through understanding client needs and delivering tailored solutions that add value.
- Promote i3Works' services and capabilities during client meetings, demonstrating expertise.
- Contribute to the preparation of bid documents and proposals where necessary.
Internal Workstreams
- Seek out and support on internal projects that drive business improvements and operational efficiency.
- Actively seek opportunities for professional growth and support the development of junior team members.
Ideal candidates will be able to apply APM methodologies underpinned by practical experience of P3M delivery as well as marketing the organisation’s capabilities when required, including business development activities.
Experience and Qualifications
- P3M/Project Controls Qualifications (PMQ, PP&C, MOR)
- High level of knowledge within at least one area of P3M and PC underpinned by fundamental understanding across P3M and PC, with a thirst for developing their breadth and depth of knowledge across multiple areas of P3M and PC.
- Developing the ability to manage people across P3M and PC.
- Experience delivering utilising waterfall, agile and hybrid methodologies.
- Previous consulting experience preferred
- The suitable candidate will need SC or DV clearance
Role Location
Our consultants are expected to work in a hybrid environment, in accordance with our clients. We require our people to be within an easily commutable distance of our Bristol office and to be able to co-locate at our client locations, which are typically 50 miles of Bristol or along the M4 corridor. New clients are always coming on board, and we require our consultants to be able to work flexibly and wherever this work requires.
